2010 Last F5J and National Champs Italy Francesco Meschia won the last contest for this year in the
Autonomy F5J electric league.
Massimo Verardi was 2nd and Thomas Truffo was 3rd, all of them
with Pike Perfect
(ET for Massimo, 3.55 m for Francesco and Thomas).
Massimo also became national champion for this class for the
year 2010, and

September 2010.
Jana is the daughter of Jaroslav that started Samba models and
the sister of Jaroslav and Vlastimil that runs the company now

News 2010 PIKE Perfect and Perfect ET are available with lower flying
weight for this season.
we managed to decrease the weigh by +/- 150 g, it depends on
version. 2/3 of weight difference was saved on the wing with the
same stiffness. The lower weigt improves the performance of the
model. 1/3 weigth difference was saved on the fuselage. New
fuselage is lighter and also stiffer and more rigid.
13-16.02.2010 - Brazil First flying this year was in Brasil Sao Paolo 13-16th of
February. where Jaroslav Vostřel and his wife Eva represented
our team. Our friends from Sao Paolo invited them to this very
kind event. This "competition" took place on a privat aifrield
about 80 km from Sao Paolo. It was a very nice place. They would
like to thanks them for their hospitality and kindness. They
enjoyed lots of fun, great food. Weather was very warm, arrivel
to Brazil was big change for them. In Czech Republic it was -15
°C temperatures and 36°C welcomed them in Brazil. Even night
temperatures were not below 22°C. World-known carnival took
place there just in that days of their visit and they could not
miss this party. It is big holiday for Brazilians and they enjoy
it so much, there was such a great atmosphere. Once more thank
you very much for chance to spend great 5 days with kind people
in sunny Sao Paolo.

study break. He showed good feeling for thermals with his

New Pike Perfect ET
(Extended Tips) released
Vlastimil flew the new ET tips on Tuesday before the North
Cyprus F3J Open. and in the weekend Jojo won the North Cyprus
F3J Open 2009.
The new tips makes the Pike Perfect 3,78m and is made to improve
circling performance and dead air time. The weekends competition
shows that it is also performing well in both high winds with
ballast and normal conditions.

* Very demanding electro version of PIKE Perfect will be put
into production in July 2008. You can see the prototype of

* JK Edition - There has been developed a new version of PIKE Perfect
on request of Jan Kohout. He required high stiffness with low
weight and possibility of using ballast. this version has full
carbon fuselage, new ballast system, tape instead of epoxy
wipers on ailerons and minimum quantity of epoxy and paint. This
version is usable for all conditions except the extremely windy
conditions, where carbon socks in ailerons are needed to prevent
flutter. Flying weight of this universal version is 2050-2070 g.
Full carbon SL version 1950 g is usable only for light
conditions

competition was followed by very difficult and unpredictable
conditions.

NEWS for F3J 2007 After successful season 2006 for Perfect this model came through
some small aerodynamical and construction modifications. We
concentrated on the weak points where model suffered during hard
landing, we managed to reinforce these places and keeping the
same weight. The actual flying weight of the mostly used and
universal full 68 carbon version is 2150-2200g. At the end of
last year the demand for super light Perfect increased. We
developed special super light version for very weak conditions
that is also full
carbon. Flying weight of this version is 1950 g. Some of the
competitions this year confirmed justness of this version for calm
conditions. Lots of testing and measurements of performance
confirmed difference
comparing to standard carbon 68 version. But this version make
sense only for calm no thermal conditions. WE also considered
v-tail version, that's weight would be even 100g lower (1850 g
of sl version and 2050-2100 g of carbon 68). But we relinquished
from this idea for now because of the worse handling of all
v-tail models and also because of the low demand for F3J models
with v-tails in general.

30/3-1/4Eurotour Istanbul Cup 2007
First Eurotour event 2007 is over and what a blast.
It did roll over to a landing contest and it was very interresting
to see what the level of launching pilots are up too. Pike Perfect
had 5 out of 8 places in the finals and showed that fast launching
is another thing this model is good at. Jan Kohout with PIKE Perfect was first and Philip Kolb
with PIKE Perfectsecond

Many of those were top pilots.
Conditions were very difficult. Light winds changed to strong winds
in gusts as a storm was coming in. But there were also calm evening

New joiner mould Pike Perfect ready The first joiners were solid but we have now made new mould and
saved 17g on each joiner. The new joiners are hollow and weighs 18g
each. That is a total save on 34g. It probably sounds little but this is
out in the tip and makes a difference.

Philip Kolb also won Bled
Eurotour and confirms why he wins the Eurotour this year. He flew the
Pike Superior X-tail all finals.
Pike Giant moulds
are ready!! The Pike Giant is a Pike Brio but with new bigger tips.
Prototype was first tested in WC F3J 2004 by
Jo Grini. Jo brought home 1000points in difficult rounds when nobody
flew full times. In EC F3J 2005 Jaroslav Tupec brought it for windy
rounds. The model have what is needed for new F3J style flying. This
means more aggressive flying yet still be able to slowly work some
neutral air with huge camber. The Pike Giant have a range that makes
it THE weapon for working the last of a thermal far away and be able
to come home. Ballast in windy conditions is no longer needed with
this model.
The weights are in the range 2100-2200 depending on layup and fuse
chosen. Wingspan is 3,3m, area 64dm and airfoil used is MG-06. The
spar for
Pike Giant is even stronger than the one used for Pike Brio.
The model have allready been used for success in several Nationals
and European Championship F3J. See our Success

Eurotour Podhorany Philip Kolb won Eurotour in Podhorany and
got 103 points. He was flying with Superior but he had to fly with
Sharon in 1 of the fly off flights as his Superior was shot down and
broken in flyoff.

RCV2 is very similar to F3J and have been flown in Czech Republic

We had a great time at Cyprus, everything was super and free of
charge. Organization of the competition was also very good. Lot of
food and drinks for all the day. They took the boxes with models to
the hotel with a large truck. The accomodation was in a 5 star hotel
on the coast (1 night 225 USD/person).
But the conditions durind the competition were very difficult. We
had to fly very far with not very strong thermals. Results are as
following:

Unfortunately David Hobby was not there. One of the competitors told
us that F3J becomes more fair. When we asked him why, he told us
that all pilots start to fly with the same model, he was talking
about Superior :-)
Well half of the pilots were flying with Superior.
1st price was 1 week stay in luxury hotel + air tickets
2nd price was MC 24
3rd was PIKE Superior
The only one trouble was with small distances between the spots (about
8 m) so there was a lot of crashes (also minimum 4 Superiors).
Thanks to North Cyprus Aviation Association for organization and
invitation to such a great event. It was very nice to meet F3J filots from many countries and nice diversification of winter
season.

Tony Vale wins Hollandglide 2003!
With Pike Superior V-tail Tony Vale wins this years Hollandglide by flying
longer than anyone else. This year was difficult and this time it was not
the landing points that gave him the win. Tony places England firmly on the
F3J-map this year and we wish him good luck further on. Jaroslav Vostřel
placed second with Pike Superior X-tail and Cor de Jong came third.

Vale wins Hollandglide 2003!
With Pike Superior V-tail Tony Vale wins this years Hollandglide by flying
longer than anyone else. This year was difficult and this time it was not
the landing points that gave him the win. Tony places England firmly on the
F3J-map this year and we wish him good luck further on. Jaroslav Vostřel placed second with Pike Superior X-tail
and Cor de Jong came third.

Championship F3J, Deva 2003
Congratulation to all the winners of medals and to all helpers of the teams
that probably also have earned a medal! A special congratulation from us to
the following pilots:
Seniors:
- 1st Kohout
- 5th Vostřel
- Tupec got 100
points penalization (Safety corridor) and he felt down from the second to
the 18th place.

PIKE Brio now in production
The PIKE Brio model is designed for top F3F flying. It is also easy to
control like all PIKE´s. You can also fly F3B category with this model.
Development and the production :
The prototype was finished of styropor and balsa. Kevin Newton and Radovan
Plch have tested the qualities of the model and it is great. The model is now
in production. Some details: Wingspan
3m, new fuse with 2 piece V-tail or Superior fuse, profile MG06 mod. Weight
carbon X-tail: apx 2050g

Latest news is that Kevin won the UK F3F League in 2002 by the largest amount
in many
years using the Brio prototype.

PIKE Superior Xtail NEW: Now also with
X-tail
The Superior can now be supplied with X-tail.
05.12.2002 We have just developed and
tested a new X-tail for Superior. This fuse can also be used on the Brio... The
X-tail is smaller than the one used on the Pike Plus and made all composite and
so stiff that it can be used in any F3X competition.

PIKE Superior is finally here.
At last a completely new model from Samba for F3J, F3B.
It was constructed by the newest knowledge about aerodynamics and about the construction of the models that guarantee the big strength of the models by small
weight. And also we took advantage of our many years experience.
Development and the production :
In June 2001 the protype was finished of styropor and balsa. We have tested the qualities of the model for 4 months
and it was great. It was just like we wanted, the qualities are as we expected. After small changes we
the final version of the model is now in production.
Model was tested by Ing. Jan Kohout and Jaroslav Tupec. The production of the moulds was made
with CAD-CAM technology. The tooling was made on 3D professional cutter that works with 0,02 mm precision. The result are really very exact moulds.
Specification:
Wing span: 3300 mm
Wing area: 66,5 dm2
The profile in the centre of the wing: HQ/W 2,5/8 - the camber and the thickness is gradually changed to the end of the wing
Flying weight: 1860 - 2180g -it depends on the version of the strength
Ballast tube: 500 g - 1500 g - depends on the version
Joiners are 11,5x11,8 mm (bigger than the old one)
3-piece wing
The leading edge is ellipsed. The flaps and ailerons are bottom hinged that makes better aerodynamics because we
don't need big servo covers.
The seating of the wings and V-tail is very strong and precise.
